About Florentino

The ambiance at Florentino sets a refined yet relaxed tone, where soft lighting and rich wood accents blend effortlessly to create an inviting dining environment. Its reputation seen through various reviews suggests a balance between tradition and a revived take on Italian fare, which the kitchen seemingly embraces. Scrolling through Florentino photos online, diners can appreciate the artful plating and the rustic charm that pervades not just the interiors but also the presentation of each dish, hinting at an experience thoughtfully crafted both visually and gastronomically.

Exploring the offerings, the menu is anchored by classic Italian staples but includes inventive twists that prevent predictability. The pasta dishes stand out for their delicate balance of flavors—al dente textures paired with sauces that are neither overwhelming nor shy. Despite moments of brilliance, some selections occasionally veer towards the safer side, potentially leaving diners yearning for bolder creativity among the course options. Attention to detail can be spotted in the wine list, which complements the food, and the service tends to be discreet yet responsive, harmonizing well with the overall setting and serving to enhance the dining rhythm.

The outcome of a visit engenders a mix of comfort and mild curiosity. Patrons looking up Florentino restaurant on review platforms will find a general consensus appreciating both the sincerity of the dining experience and the meticulous approach to cuisine. Though the establishment might not reinvent Italian dining, it delivers with an earnest respect to ingredients and preparation, making it a reliable choice for those wanting consistency paired with subtle refinement. The occasional pacing issues during peak hours and the pricing that leans towards premium may temper expectations, but these elements contribute to the full picture of what awaits at Florentino’s table.

Dinner at Grossi Florentino was such a lovely experience. The atmosphere felt warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The service was friendly and professional without ever feeling over the top, and every course was full of flavour and care. The pasta was fresh and delicate, and the desserts were just beautiful. It’s one of those places where you can relax, enjoy great food, and really take in the moment. Everything flowed perfectly, and you could tell the team genuinely enjoy what they do. A wonderful spot for a special night out in Melbourne.

Came here for dinner with a reservation and had the 'Gran Four' tasting menu which included seven dishes as well as some starter snacks, sourdough bread and pre-dessert palate cleanser which was not listed on the menu. Most of the dishes were very tasty; highlights were the scallops encased in a light crispy coating, the lobster risotto which has a condensed seafood and cheesy taste with a few big pieces of lobster to enjoy, and the duck tortellini which was rich and savoury with a nice al dente texture. The strawberry sorbet was also very good with a naturally sweet and refreshing taste. Service was friendly and attentive, each dish was explained in detail and the course took around two and a half hours to finish.

Came here twice to celebrate my partner’s birthday! We had set menus and paired with amazing wines. Each dish presented very beautifully and tasted absolutely delicious. Oh the tiramisu…omg. It’s THE BEST I have ever had. Not mention the gorgeous luxurious interior you are surrounded while you’re eating. The service was 10 out of 10. Pure profession. Would love to be back again…

Amazing food, service and atmosphere, not to be faulted. After so many years, still the best Italian food in town.
